Pearland Area 34th on Forbes Magazine Growth List

Pearland is the 34th fastest growing suburb in the United States according to an article in Forbes magazine.

The Houston suburb also is 10th in Texas and first in the greater Houston area.

Pearland's population has increased 100 percent in seven years. By 2011, the estimated population is predicted to soar to 120,000 residents.

Since 2000, retail sales in Pearland have increased more than 85 percent to more than $1 billion annually.

Retail growth has had a similar spurt as Pearland experienced a major surge in retail with the launch of three, high-quality projects that will add a combined 1.9 million square feet of new retail to the city.

Local real estate doing well

The naysayers in the news keep talking about how bad the real estate market is.  Well, I say phooey on them... The real estate market is very strong in Pearland and most of Brazoria county.  Our office is as busy as it has every been.  I found this article in the Brazoria County news paper called "The Facts"  I think all should take the time to read it.  http://thefacts.com/story.lasso?ewcd=dfc4997c718b236c  It would be nice to see the more GOOD stories about our local real estate market in the major news channels.

Public meeting on Grand Parkway set

I found an article in "The Facts" about the proposed Grand Parkway, Hwy 99, moving into Brazoria County.  If you have concerns about this you need to read this story.  It seems they will have a public debate about the new hwy and how it will impact our area.  You can find the complete story at http://thefacts.com/story.lasso?ewcd=0f0b2320e840d84d .  How will this affect you? Will it help the property values or will it hurt them?
