The stakes are high. If Proposition 6 passes, Texas REALTORS® won't have to pay $600 or more in additional taxes per year. If Prop 6 fails, it will be a green light for all central appraisal districts to target REALTORS® and other independent contractors who drive a car for both personal and business use. Spread the word. Tell friends, family, neighbors, and business associates to go to the polls November 6 and vote for Proposition 6.
Texas Realtors - Vote for Prop 6 on November 6
The Texas Association of REALTORS® spent the last several years fighting an insidious fee called mixed-use vehicle taxation that targets REALTORS® and many other Texans. In the 80th session, legislators passed a bill that could end this issue once and for all; however, because the new law will provide constitutional protection from this unfair tax, there is one final hurdle: statewide ratification by voters.
